Updating Forecasts

Empirical’s forecasts update in real-time when things change. This allows managers and tech-leads to quickly make decisions and see the impact of those decisions “instantly”. You can:

Reprioritize Work

Simply drag and drop issues to reorder them.

Since the model simulates the team working on issues in rank order, you generally want to pull issues attached to “at risk” or “off-track” epics higher up in a sprint and/or the backlog.

Reassign Work

Click on an issue’s avatar and choose another assignee. Or set the assignee to “Unassigned” to make the simulation assign the 1st available team member.

Cut Scope

Click the checkbox next to an issue to exclude it from the simulation. Re-check it to include it.
